Match the physical item at every robot-to-robot handoff
Emerging use caseOn an unmanned line, nobody can confirm that the part handed from one robot to the next is really that individual item. Photographing and matching it at every hand-off catches mix-ups with no one present, and keeps building the history. This page introduces how GAZIRU.z could work on an autonomous line.
Typical challenges
On an unmanned line, you can't confirm that a part handed from robot A to robot B is really the same individual
With GAZIRU
- Photographs the item at every handoff and matches it to confirm it is exactly the individual requested
- Detects mix-ups and substitutions even on lines with no one watching
- Matching results are kept in the process record, building up a reliable history even with no one on the line
How it works
With a robot arm, the imaging position can be held steady at a predetermined position (demonstrated with a DOBOT MG400). Where the robot itself can locate the spot to image, items can be handed over on an unmanned line while verifying each individual.
